Alois Schlarb confirmed as chairman of SAMPE Deutschland e.V.

The general convention of  SAMPE Deutschland e.V. in Clausthal-Zellerfeld has re-elected  Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alois K. Schlarb as chairman on  February 23, 2010.   Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Henning of  KIT, Karlsruhe, was elected vice chairman (chair for the advancement of young scientists). Additional members of the managing committee are Andrea Piotrowski, Toho Tenax, Wuppertal (finace) and Dr. Andre Keun, Comprisetec, Hamburg (membership).

Alois Schlarb holds the chair for composite engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern (TU Kaiserslautern) and is member of the state research center OPTIMAS.

The Society of Material and Process Engineering SAMPE was founded in 1944 by engineers. Its mission is the advancement of new composite materials and engineering processes. SAMPE has over 4000 members worldwide and is organized in 100 regional chapters. Counting 160 members, SAMPE Deutschland e.V. is one of the strongest regional SAMPE chapters.
Particular aims of SAMPE Deutschland e.V. are

· exchange of knowledge on composite materials,

· the advancement of young scientists and

· international networking
