Recently, PhD student Jiraporn Nomai from the OPTIMAS research group of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alois K. Schlarb (Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, TU Kaiserslautern) was invited to the “Leibniz Young Scientist Polymer Forum 2016” in Aachen (July 6-7, 2016). As one of only very few engineers she obtained the opportunity to present her research studies “Challenges for polymer nanocomposites in modern medical applications” at this chemistry-focussed meeting. Moreover, she won the first prize with her team in a scientific competition about How to approach future challenges in polymer sciences“.
